The Australian parliament is currently finalising legislation on a key element of its climate policy, known as the Safeguard Mechanism. Polly Hemming, Director of the Climate and Energy Program at the Australia Institute is the keynote speaker at this forum which will delve into the Safeguard Mechanism, climate integrity, carbon credits and whether this policy can be the real deal when it comes to the critical work of reducing emissions. Local federal MPs, Josh Burns, Zoe Daniel and Dr Michelle Ananda-Rajah, have been invited. There will be a Q & A following presentations.
